Petesy – Belfast Beards

The Belfast Beards project rumbles on with number 5 beard, Petesy Burns.  I met Petesy several years ago whilst doing some video work at an on site theatre show in Belfast.  He had his beard then and thankfully still has it today.  I met up with him just before he was about to play at a gig in the Whitla Hall in Belfast.  We couldn’t get in to the Whitla Hall so made do with the hall in the Lanyon Building.  I wasn’t 100% sure we were allowed to set up there but I figured since we wouldn’t be there for long we would be grand!

Neil:  How long have you been growing your beard?

Petesy:  On and off for around 5 years now.

Neil:  Do you have any daily grooming routines?

Petesy:  None what so ever.  It just does its own thing!

Neil: Whats the best/worst thing about having a beard?

Petesy:  The best thing is it gives me something to stroke when I am trying to look pensive.  The worst thing is when it gets caught in zips now and again.

Neil:  Anything daft happen recently due to you having a beard?

Petesy:  Aye, some dude wanted to talk photos of it! (Neil: Fair point!)

Neil:  Any other notable points?

Petesy:  Its better to have a beard and not need one than not have a beard and need one.
