Uniforms, it’s all about the uniforms.
I’m currently a member of the Army Reserve in Northern Ireland. I’m still serving and have done so for almost 15 years. Across this time I’ve served in three different units and worn many different uniforms during this time.
Through my time in the Army Reserve I’ve always been fascinated with the various uniforms encountered during my training. From ceremonial dress to field uniforms, the range of clothing is endless.
With this project I want to explore and showcase the uniforms that people wear to save, search for and rescue others.
These collections of photographs, quotes and stories will become part of a wider piece which I hope to share and display. Showcasing ordinary people who do extraordinary things.
From Paramedics, to Mountain Rescue, to K9 units, to Aid Workers, I plan to meet as many people as possible that don uniforms in the endless and selfless pursuit of helping others.
I want to learn why they do it, where they do it, when they do it and what their uniform means to them.
