Bouncers was a drama performance adapted by The Big Telly Theatre company & The MAC Belfast. The original show was created by John Gober in 1980, and featured four doormen (bouncers) who play multiple parts to reflect the goings on at the club. This version was adapted to reflect Northern Irish lifestyles of the time.
The show was co-hosted in The MAC Belfast. The MAC opened in 2012 and remains open 363 days a year. Since opening, 1.9 million visitors have come through the doors of The MAC. The visitors have attended over 3000 live performances, viewed 40+ art exhibitions and consumed over 100,000 cups of coffee.
Bouncers ran in The MAC between 30th March to 20th April 2019.
The four characters, Judd (Conor Grimes), Lucky Eric (Marty Maguire), Les (Ciaran Nolan) and Ralph (Chris Robinson), all well known Irish actors.
Bouncers was performed in the Luminaire Club at The MAC Belfast. Production stills of the show were required to promote the caberet style set up (of the main theatre) and to attract new members of the public who had yet to visit The MAC.
